Wasn’t advertising the business of creativity and invention? Aren’t ads supposed to entertain and surprise?

This ad by the Spain State Lottery is an exact copy of OREN LAVIN’S MORNING ELEGANCE.

There is a very fine line between inspiration and plagiarism and although clients don’t risk their creative rep, what agency would happily sign their name next to something like this? I ponder… how do consumers feel about this? Can this "license to borrow" ultimately have a negative impact on the advertisers as well?

People are often so fixated with the packaging, the wrapping paper, that forget that sometimes the best ideas are the most simple ones.
